Island

Island is a personal auditorium that contains up to 25 professional-grade speakers in a single piece installation for an extraordinary listening experience. It only requires only mains power and a network connection to be ready for operation and, as a single self-contained unit, requires no acoustic treatment around it.

In addition to playing Bubbles, Island connects to any choice of audio or video media (including games consoles) and is designed to accommodate a sofa, a mattress or a desk, and is available in a huge variety of colours. The whole installation rotates through 360° at the touch of a button to suit your changing requirements through the day.

23 Monitor Speakers

In its fullest configuration, Island is equipped with thirteen speakers to the front, five to the rear and five overhead, all supplied with ultra-linear transducers that offer extraordinary performance for a faultless listening experience. The axial symmetry technology favoured by recording studios has been perfected by L‑ISA engineers for live concert dynamics, guaranteeing transparent and precise listening.

X8 Live Monitor Enclosure

The thirteen front speakers of Island are X8 live monitors, which are frequently selected for use in recording studios and for the mixing engineer position at live events. Despite its compact format, the X8 has the capability to translate the sonic signature of large sound system accurately and powerfully while retaining the pristine L‑Acoustics sound. Its conical directivity pattern imparts excellent spatialization with no minimum listening distance, assuring a flawless listening experience when accuracy is of greatest importance.

5XT Ultra-Compact Coaxial Enclosure

The rear and overhead speakers of Island are 5XTs, which maintain the pristine, powerful L‑Acoustics sonic signature from an ultra-compact 5-inch enclosure. The 5XT is particularly in demand as a complement for professional sound systems as front-fills.

2 Concert Subwoofers

Two SB18 (i/m) subwoofers are located at the rear of Island and are set in ultra-rigid cabinets crafted in beech. Known for their combination of high power and low distortion in a compact enclosure, SB18s incorporate high excursion drivers, ultra-low vibration walls and laminar airflow L‑Vents with a flared profile, resulting in dramatic reduction of port noise, maximized dynamics and power handling, as well as an exceptional level of performance. The gigantic laminar vents extend distortion-free playback of the lowest frequencies into the infra-low range; at frequencies below 20 Hz, their vibrations are palpable through the structure of Island, adding a physical feeling of elation and putting you at the centre of the action.

6 Power Amplifiers

The L-ISA-certified Player sends the digital audio signals to control circuits located at the heads of 24 LA4X class D amplifier channels, each of which delivers 1 kW of power. LA4X amplified controllers are used in professional audio installations and on tours all around the world for their power, efficiency and reliability.

Professional-grade safety switches cut in automatically to protect the electronics from overloading while independent switch-mode power supplies with power factor correction circuits ensure a stable supply.

L‑ISA Player

At the heart of Ocean lies the multi-channel L‑ISA Player, the ultimate digital control centre for audio content, which stores and protects ultra-high definition audio files. It connects easily to external media to play CDs, Blu-ray discs, streaming content and so on, using the most advanced upmixing solutions. The L‑ISA Player can be controlled via the Bubble Deck or via an app on your tablet or smartphone.

Ocean

Ocean is a high-powered perimeter auditorium. It consists of up to 50 professional-grade speakers powered by the same amplified controllers used by L‑Acoustics at rock concerts and operas. The power of the system is harnessed by the Blu 23.1 format to create an extraordinary soundscape full of energy and detail.

Depending on the exact configuration, Ocean’s power will make the most of anything from a quiet evening to a party for hundreds. It connects to everything from a live band to Bubbles to the latest in streaming channels, giving you complete control over your listening choices.

The choice of L‑Acoustics speakers for Ocean is based on your requirements and the size of the room in which it will be located: from the compact but capable X8 to the potent yet elegant Syva and beyond, Ocean can provide all the power that you need.

Although Syva Colinear Source speakers are much in demand for jazz clubs, fashion shows and dance events for their sleek shape, they offer you the choice of whether to hang them on the walls or recess them; they can also be color-coded to match your interior design.

(For Configuration Using Syva Colinear Source Speakers)

18 Main Speakers

In the configuration pictured above, Ocean uses eighteen Syva Colinear Source speakers (thirteen in front and five to the rear), all supplied with ultra-linear transducers that offer extraordinary performance for a faultless listening experience. The axial symmetry technology favoured by recording studios has been perfected by L‑ISA engineers for live concert dynamics, guaranteeing transparent and precise listening.

Together with the Syva Low and Syva Sub enclosures, the Syva Colinear System provides exceptional coverage capability and a throw of up to 35m, all in a streamlined design.

18 Low Range Speakers

18 Syva Low enclosures provide low frequency contour support and extend the bandwidth down to 40 Hz.

12 Subwoofers

Up to 12 Syva Sub subwoofers further extend the bandwidth of the system in the sub frequency domain down to 27 Hz.

12 Power Amplifiers

The L‑ISA-certified Player sends the digital audio signals to control circuits located at the heads of the 48 amplifier channels across 12 LA4X class D amplifiers, each channel delivering 1 kW of power. The uncompressed audio signals retain their full sonic transparency all the way from their digital emission through to their restitution by the transducers. Professional-grade safety switches cut in automatically to protect the electronics from overloading while independent switch-mode power supplies with power factor correction circuits ensure a stable supply.

LA4X amplified controllers are used in professional audio installations and tours all around the world for their power, efficiency and reliability.
